In February 2020, Global CINEMATHEQUE launched with the first World Cinema Awards; a standalone event created to honor and spotlight the talent in productions produced outside of the United States in the official language of the producers and directors of the films.

International film festival and film museum directors, programmers, curators and US-based film journalists formed the selection committee, bringing together two communities that are immersed in the global cinema landscape throughout the year.

Global CINEMATHEQUE’s FILM at LACMA program returns with a 2024 Winter Program of New Women Auteurs of Contemporary World Cinema – TICKETS ARE FREE with your RSVP and all screenings take place at the Vidiots Foundation Eagle Theater in Eagle Rock.
